Andy Warhol Pop Art Project

Reflection Question: In what ways is the magic wand tool useful in creating your art work?
Answer: The magic wand tool is useful because it allows you to pick a specific color in the work and change that color. For this project in particular, it allowed me to pick a specific gray or black or white and zero in on that exact shade. Without this tool and just using a paintbrush tool, I wouldn't have been able to get the variety of colors I was able to accomplish with this project. Overall, I believe that this project was very interesting and fun to do and the magic wand tool made it all very to complete.

Reflection Question: What did you do to make your portraits unique?
Answer: In order to make my portraits unique, I chose all very bright colors. The neon greens and yellows really captures the viewers attention and makes them stare longer at the work. I also alternated between which colors my face were going to be. The face in my work is the focal point and attracts all attention to it, so by changing up the colors from picture to picture, the focal point is constantly changing between each image. It also keeps the viewer looking and searching for the little changes from one picture to another.

Typography Project

Reflection Questions:
1. The strongest part of my project visually is the largest M. I believe it draws all eyes to it and helps to move the viewers eye around the work.
2. I realized as I was creating this piece that I centered most of my work. If i could redo it, I would make sure to avoid the center of the paper and keep the piece more interesting.
3. I used the copy, warp, and symmetry tools mostly while working on this. My entire piece is very symmetrical so the symmetry tool came in handy while I was creating this.
4. The easiest part of this project was choosing the letter to use. I chose the first letter of my name. It was also easiest to make it all symmetrical because it was easy to choose to make things symmetrical.
5. The most difficult part of this project was learning how to use the tools in photoshop. I forgot how to use some tools so it became difficult as I tried to remember where the gradient tool was and picking a specific M that I wanted to delete.
6. If I could redo this project, I would make sure to utilize the rule of thirds and to not center the letters because it makes it more difficult to keep the viewer interested.
7. I would rate this project out of 1-10 as a 4. I forgot to use the rule of thirds and to make a conscious effort not to center my work. I would want to redo this and make sure not to center anything in the paper.
